==============================================

Denis was born and raised in Moscow, Russia. Despite his conservative upbringing and lack of any perspective in his life, he managed to escape Mother Land during his youth and and travel across Europe where he encountered all the western stereotypes of Russian folk… and so, Denis felt an urge to say something about it.
Being one of the first English-speaking stand-up comedians in Russia, in past 5 years Denis has developed his own style, mixing old-fashioned performance, in a good way, with a modern approach.

“Denis is an edgy and unpredictable talent with a sharp wit and a fearless approach that combines well observed Russian deadpan delivery with raucous and hilarious observations.” Sam Rhodes comedian and promoter at Sam Rhodes Comedy Explosion, London, UK

“Russian comedian Denis Nikolin speaks English more eloquently than most British people. He’s intelligent, original, and very funny. A highly-educated, clear-thinking artist with experience of working as a journalist too, Denis Nikolin is a treasure on the international comedy circuit. He doesn’t just use comedy to make people laugh, he builds bridges of empathy and understanding.” Dave Thompson, comedian

“Denis Nikolin is an excellent stand up comedian and is now a rising star of the European comedy scene, including the UK, he is charismatic, naturally witty and very original, he has much to say and conveys his philosophy on life whilst making people laugh which is a precious skill to possess.” Geoff Whiting, founder at Mirth Control comedy

“Denis is a great comic, capable of holding the attention of late night festival crowds with ease. His fresh insights are must-see.” Aatif Nawaz, comedian and promoter, Edinburgh Fringe Festival

“Denis is a truly original and funny act. He had the crowd in stitches and we look forward to him coming back.” – Dharmander Singh, Cosmic Comedy Berlin

“He’s a fonny focker!!” Joey Burrell, audience member, Dunfermline, UK

His sets incorporate his own angle on his numerous jobs (seriously, dude, where the hell do you work), relationships, life in Russia and how Russians are perceived in the West. You might think that everything that is said by Western media can be applied to Denis as well but no! He is Russian, but he’s a Bad Russian! And he will destroy those stereotypes about his native tribe like that Berlin wall. And prove some actually true.

He has toured across Europe three times performing in 14 countries. He is one of the founding fathers of English Moscow Comedy. In 2018 he made his Edinburgh Festival Fringe debut with 22 solo shows and 38 extra performances on different showcases. He was live on BBC radio 5 breakfast show with Rachel Burden and has his own podcast “The Russian Comedian Podcast”. He headlined The Big Stand-Up Show in Moscow, April 2017, with an audience of 500 and headlined Stand-Up Gala Show with 200 people in April 2018. He opened for Craig Campbell in Moscow in November of 2015 and for Tony Law in December 2018. Denis also performed 5 solo shows (including 3 in Edinburgh) during his first “Bad Russian” tour last December and killed it at The Stand Comedy Club Glasgow. His new tour starts on 15/02 in Berlin and Denis doesn’t really know when it’s gonna end…
